What we do with the money from the donations

The proceeds of the cup’s sale will be used for micro credits that are available for the small farmers and Santos Tuyúc. Especially Santos Tuyúc is in need of a budget equivalent to 7,000 US$. On average, he can only cover 20 percent of the costs by himself.

The small farmers from the cooperative Nuevos Horizontes have an average need of micro credits of about 1,000 US$. They say that every increase would directly benefit their coffee production. The farmers did not want to comment on what would happen if they would process their own crop further. If they would be encouraged to associate with Santos Tuyúc concerning this matter, there might be a new cooperative.

The painter and artist Santiago Otzin Patá additionally expressed the wish to provide a small part of the money for the old and poor people in San Juan Comalapa.
